My new years resolution did not work out too well, did it?! Above is a video of Maxx on a show called KidScene on HDNet Movies. Pola Metz, the USA Sport Stacking Team coach invited him to come... Miles wouldn't have done it even IF he was invited, but they wanted kids ages 8 and up. He didn't talk, but he's definitely on it! Very cool!
Some other noteworthy events since I've last posted... This is the short version!
The boys did AMAZING at the Sport Stacking World Championships! Miles broke another world record (for the 3-3-3) and came close to beating HIS own 3-6-3 record that he made the month before. The USA Team they were on, the "Stackateers" did great! Winning 1st place in two events and 3rd in another. I was the coach and had a LOT of fun! Pics to follow someday!
Miles' soccer team took FIRST going undefeated in a 3v3 tournament in July. Then he and his best buddy Sebastian guest played on a Denver team at the Regional 3v3 Championships in Aspen, and they ALSO went undefeated and won 1st place. Neither tournament was easy, and the regionals actually got pretty rough. We are so proud!
Maxx tried out for U11 Competitive soccer this summer. (he is a true U10 player) We just wanted him to do it, to get it out of his system for next year when it really counts... you know, calm his nerves and know what to expect. Well he actually made it to the lower "red" team! We accepted, feeling like we had no other option since his current team had NO plans to move up to option 1 AND the team itself had some major issues going on. The next day we got a call saying that there was a miscommunication between coaches and that Maxx would NOT be allowed to play on the U11 team because he was a U10 player. At least it got him "in the light" and he got placed on an option 1 team. A team that had no coach! So, of course Max stepped up to do it! So now he's back to coaching two teams, and Maxx is doing amazing at soccer as well. The team needs a lot of work, but they just had their first victory this last weekend!
Mason? He tags along for all of his brothers' stuff! Nuff said. BUT he just started preschool and LOVES it!!!! We are so proud and he is proud of himself! I think this will help him feel more secure with getting out there and he'll actually PLAY on a soccer team next Fall. He'll start KINDERGARTEN next Fall, OMG time flies!
