This proud mama is ecstatic to announce that Miles has been invited to join the USA SPORT STACKING TEAM with the WSSA! He will compete with the team at the World Championships in April. We also get to stay at the same hotel as other teammates, so we can have extra practice time together at the hotel! I have been receiving updates and weekly "work outs" for Miles to do to train for Worlds, which we have to sign off on as parents vouching that they DID the practices. It has been great! And he's greatly improved too! From his dedication AND the weekly workouts too. ;)
There is a sanctioned tournament here in town on March 6 and we are really looking forward to it. We'll also get to meet the Team USA coach at the tourney. Miles will be able to compete with RMCA at this tourney, but not at Worlds since he'll be with his Team USA. :) The host of this tourney says that he will host ANOTHER sanctioned tourney later in 2010. So Miles gets THREE shots to break world records this year, yay! So far his personal bests are...
3-3-3 = 2.28 (WR 2.46 )
3-6-3 = 3.06 (WR 3.31)
Cycle = 8.80 (WR 9.49)
He is only six years old! So he has his ups and downs and in betweens. That kid is SO dedicated, to the point of being obsessed! His obsessions go through a cycle... Soccer, sport stacking, video games, math, reading, and the list goes on and on.
Maxx is improving greatly too. With me helping the school to get sport stacking up and running, they are making friends through the shared interest of stacking. The boys have had a playdate at a neighbor boy's house, named Jeffery and Jeffery is also friends with another boy named Aaron who is really good. (both of these boys are 10 I think) Maxx has been doing doubles with Aaron at school and their personal best is 12.80 for the cycle. Impressive!
Even Mason has been stacking a little. He does it all wrong, but gets the main gist of it. Yesterday him and Maxx did doubles together and it was beyond adorable. I need to get a picture and/or video of it!
