Friends

I have some of the greatest friends!! After going through a huge falling out with some of my Florida friends, I am feeling VERY grateful for my TRUE friends here at home and one in Florida. (you know who you are!) Not to mention my VERY best friend, MAX!!

When I lived in Florida I found myself caught up in the way some of the women are there in that group. I was talking a a lot behind people's backs, I was more judgmental, caught up in appearances and the materialistic mumbo jumbo etc. I don't need friends who treated me the way they did. Yes we had some good times, but when it came down to the true essence of what a friendship is, it just wasn't there. Maybe because they are dominant and controlling and I am a people pleaser. The thing that I find ironic is that they think that they are the best friends anyone can have, but all three of them talk behind each others' backs a LOT with some not so nice things to say. I've been the recipient of that talk many, many times. But, let bygones be bygones.

Standing up to them was a very liberating experience for me. It took a lot of courage to stand my ground against them and I know I did the right thing. I am sad to lose some friends, but life is too short to waste my time on people who don't respect me for who I am. AND now solidifying that my true friends understand me, respect me and love me. It all just makes me appreciate them much more! If you're reading this, I love you guys!!!!
