Nathan took his last breath with his parents at his side at 9:22am yesterday. I will always remember what a sweet, smart and strong boy he was. He was nothing short of incredible. He has touched many people deeply, many whom he never met. He touched Max and I deeper than we'll ever know. I will carry his memory with me on a daily basis. My heart is literally breaking for his parents, Luke and Susan and his two younger sisters, Julia and Lauren. Words can't even describe my feelings really. At least we can take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and is in a better place now. Nathan will be greatly missed.
The first picture is at Nathan's 3rd Birthday Party in June 2002 only a few months after his diagnosis.
The second picture is of The Gentry's trip to Orlando, Florida in April 2005 at Sea World.
The third and fourth pictures are pictures I stole from a blog of a family member of the Gentry family I ran across a while back. These two pictures touched me very deeply.
I looked for a more recent picture I have of Nathan at Mason's 1st Birthday party, but can't find it at the moment. He had a lot of fun and looked very carefree in the picture.
